The Foundation is a supporting organization to CancerCare, a national nonprofit organization that provides free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones, and the bereaved. CancerCare programs—including counseling, education, financial assistance and practical help—are provided by trained oncology social workers and are completely free of charge. Founded in 1944, CancerCare provided individual help to more than 97,000 people in 2006–2007, and had nearly 2.1 million visits to its websites.
